Surroundings

Hurstone is set amidst 65 acres of meadows and woodland on the edge of the Exmoor overlooking the valley of the River Tone.

Much of the land is a recognised County Wildlife site with traditional meadows, ancient hedgerows and native woodland bordered by the River Tone. Otters frequent the river, wild deer can be spotted in the woodland and buzzards often soar above the pastures.

If you’re an outdoor enthusiast Hurstone is ideally situated for walking, mountain biking, horse riding and fishing. For the less energetic, there are many national trust houses and gardens, scenic drives over Exmoor and the beautiful north Devon coast to explore.

A short walk from the house is The Rock Inn, a traditional village pub serving a range of local ales and fantastic food. For in-house catering and ready prepared meals, contact Janet Sharland on 01984 623319.
