The Rock Inn, Waterrow
Dating back more than 450 years, The Rock Inn is tucked away in the picturesque village of Waterrow in Somerset; just outside the River Tone babbles along under the bridge and past centuries old cottages set comfortably among the leafy lanes.

Not many places can rightfully claim that essential mix of country pub and high quality restaurant, but The Rock Inn does exactly that, serving the local community and visitors well. The menu has something for all tastes – there are British favourites like Fish and Chips, steaks, and a choice of burgers, a specials board for seasonal treats and if you like curries you’ll love the choice – Black chicken, Ceylon lamb, Aubergine & lentil to liven your taste buds. They are big on supporting local suppliers and use fresh seasonal ingredients, so in the summer you can expect salads to appear on the menu – Chicken garden salad, Halloumi salad, Calamari salad, Greek salad – just what you need on a hot sunshiny day, even better with an ice cold glass of wine and enjoyed on the garden terrace.

Inside is the kind of charm you’d expect in a country pub – ceiling beams, thick stone walls, inglenook fireplaces and a very friendly ambience. It’s a good place to be, The Rock, and when your belly is full and you feel sated all you have to do is wander at your own pace back up the hill to Hurstone.
Be sure to check opening times if you're popping down on the off chance, and if you want to book a table do so well in advance. Check their website for more information and menu options . www.rockinnwaterrow.com
